sony - xm5 concept

This 10-second animation was developed for Sony to highlight the XM5 headphones’ premium materials and key features. I was responsible for the concept, art direction, and animation direction.

The challenge was to develop the storyboard and animatic to communicate all required features within the tight runtime.

Directing the shot compositions was key, selecting angles that best showcased the product’s design and visual appeal.

animatic

When leading animation on a project, I personally create the storyboard and animatic, as it allows for quick experimentation and helps refine ideas to find the ideal timing. For this project that was especially necessary. With only 10 seconds to work with, every detail had to be carefully planned to make the most of the limited runtime.

Each camera angle and cut was designed with intention, ensuring the product was clearly and effectively presented in a short amount of time.

shot explorations

Since this animation was a beauty reel, each shot needed the optimal camera angle and composition to showcase the headphones effectively.

I oversaw the 3D team, providing feedback on shot layouts and guiding the early explorations toward the final compositions.
